  12. I bought a cardinal 288i fax modem. I have 2 questions since I can't
  13. reach tech support. 1) How do I know if I am connected at 28800? When I
  14. cnected with a bbs, it established contact faster at 14400 than at
  15. 28800. Is that unusual? 2) The modem works however the fax doesn't. It
  16. calls up but when they connect they don't communicate. My friends say
  17. their fax machine went on but they didn't handshake. Do I have a
  18. defective modem.
